| The Black Sea Remote Data Access modules have been developed using the (at that time) latest technologies. This includes the usage of the Java 2 version 1.3 programming
language and the Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) for network
communication. The aim has been to build a scalable implementation, which is
platform independent for both the client and server part of the software.
Furthermore the software has been developed to enable an easy integration of
the server software with existing environmental database. Currently the server
application has been tested with some of the most widely used SQL databases
i.e. Paradox, Microsoft Access and Oracle. The server software could be used with
any SQL database, which is accessible from Java via the JDBC interface.
The Black Sea Demonstrator is no longer available for downloading.
